Saurashtra is the region comprising of the districts of Bhavnagar, Amreli, Rajkot, Junagadh, Surendranagar, Jamnagar and Porbandar within the state of Gujarat, located on the western tip of India. Due to a large variation in natural topography, the area is rich in flora and fauna common to the dry and arid regions of India. The Great Indian Bustard, Lesser Florican, White-backed Vulture, Scavenger Vulture, King Vulture etc., are only some of rare birds found in this region.
