Oriental Buzzard Rehabilitation: The Oriental Buzzard, more commonly known as the Honey Buzzard was fairly wide spread in the Indian Sub Continent and was once fairly common. However, numbers of this raptor has declined visibly and the bird is not very commonly seen in many of the previously resplendent habitat areas. The buzzard was common all over the state of Gujarat, but the numbers have steadily declined in the recent years. This buzzard had a damaged wing and was rescued and rehabilitated by Mr. Raol and his team of nature volunteers in Bhavnagar, in 2009. The bird was successfully released in the wild after a 2 month long treatment and rehabilitation period.Click on the image on the left to load a short video. |
