Asiatic Lion Asiatic Lion: This Majestic king of the jungle is facing a very sad plight. Limited now to a very small area within the Geer National park in Western India, this small and the last existing population of the Asiatic Lion is fighting a hard battle against the ever increasing pressure of the human population, loss of habitat, poaching and inbreeding.
Indian Gazelle/Chinkara Indian Gazelle: This Asiatic Gazelle also called the Chinkara locally, is the smallest Antelope found in Asia. It lives in dry scrubland and hilly regions of North Western India. This beautiful animal is shy and elusive and is difficult to spot. Poaching and trapping by local hunters has sharply brought down the numbers of this, once abundant Antelope.

Spotted Deer/ Chital Chital:The Chital or the Spotted Deer is commonly found throughout forested areas in India excepting the extreme northern areas. It is common to see large herds of the Chital numbering to over 50 animals. It is a favorite prey for many predators such as the Tiger and the Leopard. It is a beautiful animal with an elegant set of antlers which can reach amazing dimensions at times.

Nilgai/ Bluebull Nilgai:The Nilgai or the Bluebull is the largest of Asian Antelopes. It can reach weights close to 550 lbs on exceptional males. Commonly found in scrubland as well as forested areas, the Nilgai can be seen in herds in open farmland as well. The male Nilgai matures to a dark Grey-blue color with short spirlal horns while the female is smaller and a lighter Brown/fawn color.

Blackbuck Black Buck: The Black Buck is easily one of the most beautiful of all Antelope around the world. The male of the species generally has a dark black upper body with a contrasting white lower half and long spiral horns. Found only in dry grassland and srubland, their numbers are dwindling fast as they lose their habitat to the rapidly growing human population and face competition with domestic livestock. They are nowLimited now to scattered areas in North-Western India.
Porcupine Porcupine: The Porcupine is a member of the Rodent family and is commonly found in regions ranging from Asia to North America with minor change in size, color and characteristics. It is mostly nocturnal, and burroughs, building a nest within where it bears its young. Commonly found all over India in habitat ranging from scrubland to thickly forested areas.
